Dr. Mayra Navarrete Physical Therapist

Dr. Mayra C. Navarrete is a physical therapist and an El Paso native who graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy in 2011 along with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Minor in Biology in 2007. Dr. Navarrete is a formally trained dancer and her involvement in various performances exposed her to dance related injuries and physical limitations that were a result of these injuries. This led her to her passion in physical therapy. She began her professional career working with the pediatric population with neurological and developmental conditions working  alongside neonatologists,  physiatrist, orthotists, and medical equipment personnel. She then continued to embark within the orthopedic population to help adults and children with orthopedic conditions as well as using her dance background to give dance specific treatment to local dancers. Dr. Navarrete has also had the privilege of being a guest lecturer to the students of the physical therapy program at UTEP, as well as a guest lecturer for the dance department of UTEP, various private dance studios, and the fine arts department of local school districts. Dr. Navarrete lives with her husband and daughter who is following in her mom’s footsteps in the dance world, along with her 3 dogs.

Expertise

Dr. Navarrete holds certifications with instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization and selective functional movement assessment along with certifications with dry needling. She also holds certification under the Progressing Ballet Technique Program which she uses during treatment and holds high distinction in manual therapy as she has finished her fellowship training in orthopedic manual physical therapy under The Manual Therapy Institute. She recently received her FAAOMPT accreditation as well.

Dr. Victoria Nuñez Physical Therapist

Dr. Victoria M. Nunez is an El Paso native graduating from UTEP with a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy along with a Bachelor in Kinesiology and a Minor in Biology. Victoria is actually a former UTEP Volleyball player from the years 2010-2014. This is what lead her to physical therapy being injured herself and having to endure rehabilitation. She uses her background in sports to help the athletic population in returning to sport safely. Victoria also has a unique specialty in Women’s Health-Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. She has been trained through Herman & Wallace and has experience in developing a Women’s Health program in her previous job. She is certified in Dry Needling through Hobbs Masters Needling. She is currently working on attaining her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification. Victoria is married to her husband Nico and has a daughter named Roma.

Complete Performance Physical Therapy strives to provide quality patient care using evidence-based practice, as well as advance manual therapy skills to assist in decreasing physical impairments and movement disorders. We put patient care first with one-on-one treatments to promote physical wellness and education to alleviate physical discomfort.
We are also one of few facilities that concentrates on dancer related injuries. Our quality of care is unlike any other assisting our patients to get to their prior level of function and beyond, as well as helping dancers in injury prevention, dance with less pain, and perform to their fullest abilities.
